Experience

I have over 5+ years of tutoring experience due to working part time as a STEM tutor while earning my undergraduate degree at UIUC. I first started tutoring at Joliet Junior College where I worked as a peer math tutor. I spent 20+ hours every week tutoring students in arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus1, calculus 2, calculus 3, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics, probability, finite mathematics, business mathematics, Physics: mechanics, Physics: Electricity and magnetism, and introductory electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science courses. I tutored individual appointments and lead group tutoring appointments. I soon was promoted by my supervisor to be a tutor for TRIO upward bound where I gave special attention to underprivileged students. After spending two years at JJC I transferred to UIUC to complete a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. During that time I held three different tutoring positions. The first was an instructor position at Mathnasium. There I tutored grade school students from 2nd grade to 12th grade. I learned how to effectively tutor younger students by incorporating games into the lessons and creating a point system where students could win prizes by completing assignments. The second position I held at UIUC was being a tutor for OMSA. There I helped minority students transition to university and helped them find opportunities to get involved on campus along with tutoring them in their math and physics courses. The last tutoring position I held was as a course aide for ECE 110 at UIUC. There I helped inspire freshman students to pursue their dreams of becoming capable engineers through leading laboratory exercises and demonstrations on how to use lab equipment. I currently tutor for WYZANT and I have over 500 hours of tutoring experience on WYZANT alone. I have over 200 5 star reviews and dozens of positive feedback on my WYZANT profile.
